Na net een immens succesvolle uitverkochte tour in april te hebben afgesloten,
die werd gefilmd door Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer voor de documentaire Elvis On Tour uit 1972,
was het vertrouwen in het kamp van Elvis groot, aangezien alle vier de shows in Madison Square Garden in New York uitverkocht waren.

werd snel weggenomen omdat het lawaai van het MSG-publiek oorverdovend was. Samenvattend luidde de kop van The New York Times

Deze late 50th Anniversary FTD-editie viert deze legendarische shows met nieuwe gemengde versies
van beide shows door Memphian opnametechnicus Matt-Ross Spang.
Disc 3 bevat de originele persconferentie opgenomen in het New York Hilton op 9 juni.
